PRESS RELEASE
Like all workers, people with mental illness can
benefit greatly from the security and self-sufficiency
that come with stable and fulfilling employment.
In addition to providing a living, work gives a sense
of belonging to a community. It also creates a network
of friends and colleagues. Mental illness is not
a choice and one out of five Americans will experience
a mental health problem that is severe enough to
require treatment. Join us to learn how to help your
present and future employees achieve acceptance,
understanding and success.
Dr. Patrick Corrigan is a well-known expert on the
stigma of mental illness. He is currently Professor
of Psychology at teh Illinois Institute of Technology
(IIT) and the former Director of the Center of Psychiatric
Rehabilitation at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare.
Dr. Corrigan has published more than 100 articles
as well as five books including "Don't Call Me Nuts!
Coping with the Stigma of Mental Illness."
So please come and enjoy a free lunch and network with other
business and service providers who can offer their expertise to help
you maintain your current workforce and identify qualified employees to
fill your vacancies.
